| This picture quite well illustrating the discrepancy in life between the poor and the rich people in Jakarta, Indonesia. As you can see the poor live in very small-simple-rotten houses above the river. Made of plank as their wall, bamboo as their foundation, and zinc on their roof that they took from the trashes. Imagine the way they drinking, bathing, urinating, and washing with the same water from the dirty river (with all the rubbish as you can see). They sleep in the cold and work in the heat every single day. In the meanwhile, the rich people live in the magnificent apartments just behind it. They have air conditioners, water heater, fresh water to drink, and so much more excessive. What a view from up there. This is something I'm not proud of, something I wish never happen anywhere, something I wish I can change. |
